PB&J Bread Pudding

This delicious dessert tastes just like the beloved childhood sandwich. Yum!


    • 10 slices white bread
    • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
    • 3/4 cup Grandma’s Jam House strawberry jam
    • 2 cup half and half
    • 4 large eggs
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
    • Powdered sugar, for dusting


1. Arrange the bread on a work surface and spread peanut butter on half the slices.
2. Spread jam on the remaining slices.
3. Sandwich together peanut butter and jam slices.
4. Trim crusts off sandwiches and discard.
5. Cut each sandwich into quarters and place in a medium baking dish.
6. Preheat oven to 300°.
7. Whisk half and half, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt in a large bowl.
8. Pour mixture over sandwich pieces in baking dish.
9. Let sit 20 minutes, gently pressing down on the bread halfway through, if necessary, so that it absorbs the custard as much as possible.
10. Bake bread pudding, rotating pan halfway through, until puffed and golden, 55 to 60 minutes.
11. Let cool 10 minutes.
12. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
