Oatmeal Drop Biscuits

Wonderful honey flavor goes great with your favorite Grandma’s Jam House jam or fresh fruit!

Ingredients

    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 3 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 3 tablespoons shortening
    • 1 cup quick cooking oatmeal
    • 1 beaten egg
    • 1/3 cup milk
    • 2 tablespoons Grandma’s Jam House honey

Instructions

1. In mixing bowl, thoroughly stir flour baking powder and salt.
2. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Stir in oatmeal.
4. Combine egg, milk and honey.
5. Add to dry mixture.
6. Stir until just moistened.
7. Drop by spoonful onto greased or parchment paper covered baking sheet, making 6 large or 10 small biscuits.
8. Bake at 425 for 10 – 15 minutes for large biscuits or 8 – 10 minutes for small.
9. Serve with your favorite jam or fruit and whipped cream.
