3 Ingredients We Use in All Our Jams and Jellies

At Grandma’s Jam House, we keep things simple—really simple.

We mix our delicious preserves by hand without high fructose corn syrup or additives.

Because as jam and jelly experts, we hold to this truth—real, fresh ingredients are simply the best.

So, if you’re curious about our ingredient list, you’ve come to the right place.

In this post, we’ll break down three ingredients we use in every jar of jam and jelly to make that Grandma’s-Jam-House difference.

1. Real Fruit

Good jam starts with real fruit. So, that’s where we start our preserve-making process.

No additives or artificial preservatives ensure you get the real deal—real flavor in every bite.

We buy fruit from all over the world. Starting with local farmers markets to Michigan, Wisconsin, Oregon, British Colombia, Mexico, Serbia—and even Italy.

Except for oranges, jalapenos, and peaches, our fruit products are typically frozen.

But that doesn’t stop us from taste testing anything from frozen blueberries to juice concentrates.

Taste testing helps us achieve that genuine jam flavor before our preserves reach the jar—and your table.

Plus, our “real-fruit policy” creates preserves rich in flavor and color.

Only our Mint Jelly and Apple Cinnamon Jelly include food coloring—although our updated Apple Cinnamon recipe won’t include any dyes.

All other preserves are naturally colored by high-quality fruit.

2. Cane Sugar

Our perfectly sweetened jams are proof that preserves don’t need high fructose corn syrup.

Instead of artificial sweeteners, we use Florida-grown cane sugar.

Besides eliminating health risks that come with HFCS, cane sugar maintains that old-fashioned flavor that Grandma loved.

Grandma never used HFCS, and neither will we.

We also offer low-sugar and no-sugar varieties of several jams, jellies, and fruit butters.

Other products include six types of honey, pickles, salsa, relish, chow chow, and more.

From sweet to savory, our canned goods include all the flavor and no unnecessary effects of high fructose corn syrup.

3. Fresh Well Water

Like low-grade fruit and sweeteners, skimping on good water creates a sub-par jam.

We care about the quality of each ingredient—right down to the water.

So, we make our small-batch preserves with fresh well water.

Sourced right from Grandma’s property, we’re using the same well water Grandma Mattie used in her original recipes.

Call us traditional, but we like to do things Grandma’s way.

Adding fresh well water to the mix makes for unbeatable flavor in every jar.

Simple Ingredients. Remarkable Flavor.

At Grandma’s Jam House, it’s simple. We use high-quality ingredients like real fruit, cane sugar, and fresh well water for incredible results.

We pass on high fructose corn syrup, additives, and preservatives. But we never skimp on taste.

So, if you’re looking for flavors that bring back memories from Grandma’s kitchen, you’ve come to the right place.

Grab a jar (or two) and get ready to enjoy your perfectly sweetened preserves any way you like. Welcome to Grandma’s Kitchen. Welcome home.
